The detail in the stone work is stunning, Cornelius. Beautifully composed with the yellow tree adding color. I get a sense of place, (being in the picture) with the wall coming in on the right. Bravo.
Textures, lighting, shadows and color---throw them in the pot, stir them up and you have another grand composition by the retired SEA Captain. Just marvelous mate.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Cornelius - Perhaps some of my ancestors stayed in one of the houses in their short stay in Zeeland after leaving Mannheim and prior to heading to New Netherlands. Wonderful composition! Thad
Of course we weren't even a developed country then so these seem incredible to me - reminds me of scenes I saw in a movie about the painter Vermeer Mr. C.
I love the comp and the colors but unlike Dunstickin, I dont like the inner white border and wanted to save it for desktop use but CS6 will not accept your JPEGS.
Liking a border too
