The Greek LPG tanker Telendos (IMO 94112086) (Homeport: Athens-Piraeus) captured on the Western Scheldt river (Zeeland, The Netherlands). When I took this image the Telendos was on her way from Antwerp (Belgium) to Philadelphia (USA).

Sharp capture of the tanker showing details clearly. Also the sailing vessel is an added "bonus" Cornelius.

That tanker is relatively new...2010. Awesome capture, Mr. C. I get to see ships like this when I am visiting my Daughter and Granddaughter in Delaware. Beautiful composition with the sail boat in the shot. Excellent work.

Before I read your narrative, SEAS, I was ready to shout at loud that this was a tanker from Piraeus...
You have spoilt my fun! LOL
All the same you were forgiven at once for posting this stately beauty. Thanks, dear friend.

Looks to be a kind of storage!..tanker vessel!....

So sharp in detail I can see the stevedores working!...;)

I like that you also included that sail boat for size comparison!

What a magnificent looking ship and you captured it one hundred percent with stunning detail and lovely natural colours .I also love the light in this shot and the small sailing boat adds a nice feel to this photo too.

The sailboat really adds some perspective and beauty to this scene, SEA. It will be welcome in the city of "Brotherly Love."
How long will it take to make the trip?

Super capture Mr. C.!!!! That tanker carrying liquid propane gas is quite a vessel and well fitted out with all the bells and whistles. Love your composition, clarity and inclusion of the sailboat on the left. Destination: Philadelphia - good memories and nice town. Superb photography - thanks for sharing - love it!!!!!!!

I like the perspective that the sailboat adds to judge the size of this tanker. It seems a large vessel to me for a river but I'm not a sailor - wonderful details and clarity Mr. C.

In answer to Tick's question above: It depends on the speed and the sea state, but normally 8 - 10 days from the English Channel to the east coast of the United States.

I like to add to Kathy's comment that the river here is about 4 NM (or 7.5 KM) wide (NM stands for Nautical Mile; 1 NM = 1,852 meters).
The tanker has a Gross Tonnage of 22,971 and a Deadweight of 26,634 tons. It's length = 173.7 meters and its width = 28.03 meters

I like to add to Roger's comment that the sailboat is not a small one but an 'ocean going' one. I've counted a crew of 15 persons on deck when I took the image. In a later image I will provide the proof for that.

A very impressive tanker. I like the details, including the telescope...and the smoke. I enlarged it and didn't see anyone visible, but obviously they are there somewhere. Really nice one.
