I'll provide you with another image coming from the bin too.

Seven years ago I've posted this similar one, but think this one is too fine to keep in the bin permanently.

Edit: to make clear what's the function of the depicted boat, I've added an additional comment below.

For me Mr. C. I'm glad you did bring out of hiding, I like both, but I prefer this one. I like how you caught the one skater in the foreground. That was 7 years ago, man how time passes by. I remember it very well. tigs=^..^=

A beautiful and well composed winter scene Cornelius. That ice looks rather thin to me for skating but I suppose I am wrong. Here the law is minimum 10 cm thick to allow skating.

Yer a bit like me old friend....

I keep adding more and more snaps to the bin...then forget what is in it!...Good to look back on our old stuff...even the memories tell a tale too!..

Nice one with good camera work on the exposure!

I am glad you chipped back the ice and let this one free SEA.
I liked it when I first thaw it.
Both great scenes.

Another wonderful image from your bin Cornelius - looks like fun - everyone looks like they're enjoying their outing on the ice - I'm curious to know about the boat and what are those shallow pots with yellow flowers perhaps? Great Capture!!!!!!!

Laura (jerseygurl) has put forward this question in her comment above: "I'm curious to know about the boat and what are those shallow pots with yellow flowers perhaps?"

I'll try to give Laura and other friends, who are curious for that, the answer: the boat is an obsolete one and no longer in use for commercial purposes. The inhabitants of the nearby village thought that it would be nice to use it for decorating purposes and and have asked the community council to do so. Their request was honored and some kind of large discs/pots were placed on the boat filled with soil and flowers. The people have appreciated this gesture very much. Other places in the vicinity of this village have meanwhile done the same. If you have the time to peek through my gallery one can find some examples.
At the time when I took this image, almost all the flowers had been gone by the frost, but the discs/pots are refilled from time to time with new flowers, for instance tulips. It's a wonderful and colorful sight and it's enjoyed by many people.

Most interesting Mr. C. and a fine tradition to start by that village.
