This sculpture shows the poet Jacobus Bellamy. It's situated in the Bellamy Park, Flushing, Zeeland, The Netherlands (the park however was converted to a square, but its name was unchanged). The 'park' is named after the poet.

The official name of this sculpture is 'De dichter van het park' (the poet of the park), and it was created in 2011 by the female artist Berry Holslag. The nickname for this sculpture however is 'The Observer' because 'Jacobus Bellamy' is able to observe from his 'pedestal'' what's going on on the terraces of the restaurants and café's on the opposite side of the square. However, I think if Jacobus Bellamy were alive, he would not be interested in such things.

Very colorful and a good spot he's got to survey everything around him. I also note in the distance what appears to be an unusual church steeple.

Wonderful image with colorful flowers and roofs...and I recognize the town tower, the one with the bells in the steeple. I'm not familiar with that poet, but I read the link.... to have so much influence as to have a statue made of you...and yet dying so young!
