This is the traditional windmill 'De Graanhalm' (The Corn Stalk), built in 1847 and situated in Burgh-Haamstede in Zeeland, The Netherlands.

The mill is a combined corn and sawmill. In the adjacent buildings of the mill there's a pancake restaurant and a mill shop.

The flour from this mill is used by the pancake restaurant for its pancakes and is sold in the mill shop too.

The Graanhalm is public to visitors.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Very interesting. Have you indulged yourself with a sample of those pancakes? You are so lucky to live there rather than where I do. Where you live, they make the pancakes with the flour they produced. Here, they would use the sawdust from the sawmill to make them ;)

Nicely composed and sharp photo of the mill and surroundings Cornelius. Looks very good also against the blue sky.

I would love to take a tour. I think most people here have no idea as to the main function of windmills.

I too would love to visit this spot and although I'm not a pancake lover except for the potato pancakes my German grandmother used to make, I would have to indulge if there. Excellent, sharp and lovely image Mr. C.
