I took this image of 'Hof Nieuwland', built in 1887, on the same photoshoot of THIS ONE.

'Hof' stands for farmhouse, barn and adjacent yards, while 'Nieuwland' stands for new land (gained by the sea), so becoming a Polder.

Please notice the flowering chestnut tree and the water well in the front yard.

Beautiful scene well composed Cornelius. The buildings look nice and so does the flowering tree. The peacefulness of the countryside so obvious here.

A beautiful scene you have presented us with Cornelius.
The flowering chestnut is magnificent and I like the green lawns being allowed to have little flowers growing there - not shorn right down as so many of us do !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I like Carlos' comment. This should be on a calendar or a postcard. You seem to have favorable skies in most of your shots. Fine detail in the shingles and the brickwork.

I agree that it is spot on composition and color. This place looks like its strait out of a fairy tale. That little bridge and shutters really are beautiful.
