When you read the narrative of this one you might already have known that seagulls (aka 'Maritime Pigeons') haven't any eye for beauty, but their demonstrative stance (showing their back to the by Mother Nature created beauty like in this picture) has frustrated me to a certain extent (with a wink of course), 😁 .

Apparently a manic situation, hence it's my Manic Monday contribution.

Sea gulls are a big menace over here...(And elsewhere, I would imagine)...Although local authorities are not allowed to 'Cull' the gulls...they now take the eggs from nest to 'lower their population'!....

Like the contrast colours on this...

I have always had a soft spot for seagulls but have to say I think our NZ ones are prettier than the yellow beaked ones from elsewhere.:) We recently have had a really bad situation in our town where hundreds of gulls nested on the roof of a supermarket creating noise and pollution- and because some of them are a protected species they could not be moved on until after the breeding season ended. My opinion is if we choose to live by the sea then the creatures of the sea have some rights as well, Maybe I would think differently if they were on MY roof !

Back to your photo I like it so much it is on my desktop :) The red valerian growing on the side is also a familiar sight to me as it tries to invade my garden and it is a loosing battle to keep it away.
Two pests in one beautiful picture - martime pigeons and red valarian - now that IS manic

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Mr. C. I have dealt with such a manic situation before as well. :) I really like how the valerian stands out so well against the water, lovely contrasts. tigs=^..^=

I can hear them whispering to each other SEA. "Don't turn around, it's that famous Zeeland Photographer and he will put us on the net. We don't want anything to do with nets."
Lots of comments back in the day.
They look like decoys. Great colors in the photo.

I too really like the contrasts in this shot Mr. C. - I also enjoyed your "tongue in cheek" comments on the gulls.

I love this shot, the presentation and colours as well. Very nice Mr.C By the way, we call gulls "Sky rats" over here. :)
