The Belgian Pilot Tender 'Raan' versus the MS 'Cap San Antonio', captured off the Belgian coast near the mouth of the Western Scheldt river.

The PT 'Raan' is on her way to the MS 'Cap San Antonio' to transfer a pilot there. The presence of a pilot on the bridge of a seagoing vessel is required in order for a for the proper and safe navigation to Dutch and Belgian ports like Antwerp, Ghent and Terneuzen, as the Western Scheldt is a, for maritime navigation, tricky river.

Wow - what a lot of containers! I know my new Subaru came to the US from Japan on one of these kind of ships - the difference between the two vessels says it all.
