A street view in Bruges, Belgium. Depicted is the Steenstraat (Stone Street), an ancient shopping street (17th century buildings) downtown Bruges.

PS: I realize that the red sunshade in the bottom left of the picture can be somewhat distracting. I tried to avoid this, but a post with a traffic sign on it behind me prevented me from taking a step back, while standing in front of the post would only have made the situation worse.

Mr C, I think the red sunshade is just fine in your picture. After all, it is part of the reality of the Steenstraat as reported to us via your photography. It is neither beautiful or ugly, it is just real and an honest occupant to the city-scene.

I don't mind the distraction at the bottom of the photo, I admire the depth to the shot. Such wonderful structures on the way to the depth of the photo is what interests me. Awesome!!

I see this type of awning frequently along the street - as John said it's part of the scene so to me not distracting at all. A beautiful street scene Mr. C. and nice sunshine which I'm not seeing much so very appreciative of that sky as well.

I did not notice the sunshade until I read your comments after viewing. This is not an easy photo to get right and you have such a beautiful sky. You mastered these images and this is one of them. Fav..

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
