A Black Swallowtail. I was trying my old Sigma 70-300mm lens again. Not quite as sharp as te Canon 70-200mm f4, but not too bad either.

Aye..you can see the difference at full size Mrs C!..

but, a great attempt otherwise!...Maybe a rest or tripod would have helped...but, these wee buggers don't stat still long enough for us to do that eh!

For each butterfly the Buddleja davidii is a synonym for 'paradise'.

Wonderful photography, Cindy!

I think you have a wonderful image here, I usually do not get shots of this one, it always seems to flutterly, and won't land. You and the sigma did a good job Cindy, I had one here yesterday, and it just would not land. :) Tigs♥ =^..^=

My Sigma 70-300 doesn't have IS, and is worthless without a tripod...at least to me. I can't hold it steady enough! It looks like it did a pretty good job here, Cindy. Beautiful shot!

Looks very good to me - but do think Canon is a bit sharper - I know I should use a tripod at times but I really prefer handheld while I still can. LOL

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
