While browsing an old floppie, I found another black swallowtail image from the grandson's sixth grade science project. This one made grandma a little unhappy. Apparently, one of the caterpillars got loose in her sewing room. One evening I got summoned to "get that thing out of the house."

The colors of the still soft wings were astounding.

Such is the price of education. :^)

Thought really that a woman standing on a chair because there was a mouse in the house, was a fairy tale. But now I have my doubts Don, by telling me that even a butterfly is sufficient to cause some panic, lol.
Wonderful image friend!

Well you would be surprised what makes a woman stand on a chair and scream, but I would be screaming in delight and wanting to get closer to this beauty with my camera!!! Lovely colours of a beautiful creature!

It is nice that you are so helpful around the house! lol. Besides being an eradicator of insects and other pests, you are an aid to your grandson in his education. And, apparently, you do both very well. Same as your photography.

Interesting narrative Don
Good indoor shot too .. I'm intrigued to know what's to the left of the butterfly.

I just hate dirty cutlery !! A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... My gallery is here.

Phil and I are on the same page with this shot. I love the butterfly, and are you sure she wasn't talking about the other creature? Maybe you shooed the wrong insect out the door!!

Wow. He's so pretty. My aunt would have a cow if she saw it in the house. She doesn't like insects at all.

Imagine being able to see this in your own house. What a gorgeous butterfly emerged, Don. He's looks really great against the white beam. I don't think I'd fancy having caterpillars crawling about though. lol
