No pretending needed, Ms Patti. It is good and you made real good use of the shadows on the house/bridge. I like it.

Yes the shadows make it most eye catching. What an interesting construction and a great shot.

I'm pretending it's good too.....now wait before you slap me...I'm kidding. It's rather nice in fact. Maybe better if you would have lightened the shadows a tad but still not bad at all. It has some character unlike yourself....now wait....I'm kidding again. I think I better leave. *quietly closes door*

I love the shadow that makes the windows look totally different from one another. I love the shadows in this one. Beautiful composition.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I love this image in all aspects but must admit honestly that this is not your typical "robust-feeling and merry coloured" view of old England ...
This is not England either, perhaps this is my problem ... LOL
What I mean is that in voting booth I would rate this one at as low as 9/10 ! LOL

That's not a 'bridge' Patti!.....It is a lover's tunnel!.....I like this though....so unusual to see stuff like this!.....Agree with Jerry...maybe a touch lighter in the foreground!...and this is sure to boost your c-index to at least 10?.....Very nice post!.

You weren't kidding us were you Patti?. How wonderful ( and noisy) it must be to live in such an unusual house as this. The different shadows and light in this make it as interesting as the house itself. And your c-index has surpassed your expectations LOL. Great shot Patti.
