.....is what I can see - looking towards Monsal Viaduct. ...and this photo was taken on Christmas eve when everyone else was hitting the shops and I was wandering around the Peak district enjoying the silence and foggy but beautiful countryside. I have cropped this slightly as the sky was a bit washed out but I like the fact that people are stood on the viaduct looking down giving perspective to the image! :) now where next? - ahhhh yes, up the steep slope, over the viaduct, through the woodland and back to the little cafe at the top of the hill!

So very nice fogz, it looks like you might have gotten your new boots a bit muddy, but well worth it.

Chris and I were about nine years ago in France and I remember very well a roman viaduct there. This shot reminds me very well about it. I feel very good looking at this. Thanks a lot for this post.

I'm always glad to go on these treks with you, Patti...I get to see great scenery and muck around in the mud and we always end up at a pub..what more could one ask for? I'll even buy some new (virtual) boots so I can keep up with you :)

My favorite part of this is the proportion of the water to the green grass, bannered by the amazing structure. The colors are so inviting, too!

EXCELLENT capture.

Good shot.would like to see a different perspective: taken standing just below it looking up or on top looking down the viaduct as in a railway photo.......merci for this

This is such a graceful and beautiful structure - beautifully captured Patti. I am glad you got some people in the sot.
I just read a bit about it and learned that went in was built in the 1860's there was much condemnation as it spoiled the countryside. Now it looks as though it is part of the countryside and that it has been there for ever.

Very nice. Is that you up there on the bridge about ready to jump? You could at least move over the water so not to make a mess.
