...yes the name is correct! I laughed when I saw it, as it is only two stories and twenty feet high. It is a Victorian folly, said to have been built by Solomon Mycock in the 1890's and was paid for by public subscription to provide work for the locally unemployed! ...Well maybe it was not such a bad idea! Although I had to climb a hill to see it (it is 1440 feet above sea level, puff pant!), you can walk inside to the top and views of the Derbyshire countryside can be seen in all directions.

Poor thing...having to hike up 1440 feet...we have stairs higher than that. A nice pic, bet you took 100 while up there so you could get one good one. Looks good...I wonder what this one cost me?

To see the view you described it would be well worth it to me Patti. The view from below is spectacular. I can't wait to see what it looks like from the folly. Nice photo.

Nether can I !!! I mean waiting for more images from inside and around the folly !
Lovely and do not think them guys have too good manners to laugh at the altitudes.
What ?! 1440 feet is most probably some 500 metres or so ! LOL

Feet? I always ask myself, if you are talking about mine or yours. Smile. But the capture is great and I think it is a lovely little tower. Glad you had a great sky this day.
