....once the route of the Midland Railway. The viaduct was opened in 1863 to widespread criticism from those who felt it destroyed the beauty of the valley, the viaduct remained in use for 100 years until it closed in 1968. I can only say in my opinion it is spectacular and adds to the beauty of the Wye Valley.

Well Patti, I totally agree with you, to me it adds a lot of character to this beautiful country side. Love the cows in the pasture and they don't seem to mind. I really do love this capture and colours and clarity. BRAVO job

Of course it's beautiful and is a benefit to the valley. I think that they give a sense of scale to a landscape. Again, beautifully taken from your vantage point in the hills.

Makes me wonder just how high up you were to catch this view. It's a very nice one, and I have to agree with your assessment of it being an addition to the beauty of this scene.

This comp has some intrigue to it with the parade of animals coming out of nowhere it seems. It conveys something old.Fine color etc..

I agree...I think it adds a striking contrast to the surroundings. But, it still feels like it's meant to be there...almost like the environment has "grown around it". I don't know if that make sense..but I really like the shot!!

I really like how you showed the overall view then broke it down into the valley and the viaduct. Outstanding work and each photo is great and can stand alone with no problem. The viaduct looks like it belongs. Great craftmanship. Excellent Patti.

There it is in all its glory, and you even caught a herd of cattle passing underneath to complete the scene. I love these great structures, to think that they were built without the aid of modern machinery is even more impressive. Terrific shot Fogz. I just hope the paraglider you obviously took this from landed safely ;-)
