.....a 95-metre long vertical lift bridge spanning the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester. I was out and about in the sunshine photographing bridges around Manchester and Salford yesterday ....yes we do get sunshine here in Manchester!! ... it doesn't always rain! ;)

I have seen several shots of this bridge and this is right at the top of the list Fogz. The Owd Timer and Richie are a couple I have seen. It makes a great photo subject. The daytime view with the blue sky is good. Many of the others are at night.

Patti - I like the tighter crop for the image of this bridge. The graceful curve of the bridge is echoed in the curve of the roof top of the nearby contemporary high rise building. The sky above and reflections in the water below provide a nicely balanced composition. Very well done! Thad

Colours look good good.
Really liking how you composed this one.
Got a creative suggestion for you, if I may.
That of employing a B & W conversion adjustment layer (in Photoshop particularly, and I would imagine for other image editing programs/software).
Can always start with the 'default' adjustment.
Then.. experiment with the various colours. Finally changing the Blending Mode to that of Luminosity.
Something for a rainy day, perhaps?
That said..
