What really caught my eye about this is the fact that they had covered this wooden barn with tin. Just seemed kind of strange that they would do this. I liked the weathered look of it though and thought this would make an interesting post. You can see some of the exposed wood to the right of the door.

It is a good post, great barn photo, imagine the rustic wood under that tin. I saw a great old looking barn today, I will go back and capture it, no tin, thank you for the inspiration Eileen.

I never knew they put tin over wood either! I thought it was one or the other! lol Maybe they are trying to preserve the wood from rotting that way? It even appears they tried to paint the tin to resemble red barn wood! Anyhow nice shot of this barn Eileen! I like how it has just enough showing to make you curious where you want to see more! Interesting it is ma'am! Thanks for sharing my friend! ~Dan C):-)

A great capture Eileen. I like the rustic look to this & it is very familiar to me. When I bought my Grandpa's farm about half of the outbuildings had tin over wood. I am not sure why they did it & some of the wood was rotten inside ... maybe that was why & tin was cheap back then. I like how you captured the different shades of green ... a very interesting post. Thank you for sharing this.

wow, thats a high step up to the door..lol...I love these old barns. Here in Oregon they do that a lot too, to cover the wood with metal...guess its more durable? I love how sorta hidden this one is..very very nice shot my friend..Verena

Good choice of subjects. These old structures, specially when they look as abandoned as this one does, have good texture that you can work with. They also have lots of "story" that you can use when setting up your shots and in post-production. Now I think I'd have tended to do this one in black and white / sepia, but it's great just the way it is.

Scenes like this make great pictures because they leave so much to the imagination. I wonder if they put the tin on there to try to waterproof it? Who knows. But I do know that this is a great picture. I like the composition and the fact that the barn takes up almost the whole picture. The trees and grass nicely frame it. Well done!

Eileen, you've really done a good job with the technical elements here. Past that, I enjoy the feel of your photo! The bright foreground green almost says someone is there because it makes the image so alive but the building says no one home. - Patty

Very interesting. Obviously, the barn isn't used any more. The varied greens in this are attractive and Terrydel sums it up quite nicely for me. Great job, Eileen. Simple picture that evokes many differing thoughts.
