There are over 200 feral horses that call Cumberland Island, Ga. their home. What beautiful animals they all are and to be this close to a true "free spirit" was amazing. You don't know how badly I wanted to walk up to it and pet it but touching or feeding is strictly prohibited here. Hope you enjoy the first of many of a day at Cumberland Island. Thanks for viewing.

I'm really looking forward to your series. Nice start and I love the whole idea that there are still places where domesticated animals can live a free life!!

that is amazing there are so many wild horses and wonderful too that they are allowed to roam free! You will not find them in the UK! ...not that I know of anyway! A lovely capture - with the lake in the background!

We have feral hogs here, but if you saw PJ's post you wouldn't exactly call them beautiful like this horse. Something wild should not be tamed if it's spirit is sacrificed. I like to think I've been tamed, ahhhhhhh but the spirit. You did great on this Eileen and I'm looking forward to more.

He looks so great against the blue water. This reminds me of the ponies that roam Chincoteague and Assateague Islands off the coast of Maryland.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
