Carpe Diem!
When one reads about ascents up Mt. Everest it always takes days to get there. As in this photo, we can look from here to there but just how far is it? And just how long does it take to climb up a hill or mountain and then back down again. From my experience with trying to judge distance in mountains, I look into that sweeping valley in the center of the photo, deep in the mountains themselves, and try to imagine dragging my old touchas up there. In my state (North Dakota, not arthritis:o) those hills in the foreground would be considered "mountains," so aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... not this guy. I'm content to take a moderate hike and appreciate a view like this. It's a great pano but it would be nice to know the name of the range we're looking at.
