This was also captured at Nature Preserve last week. This uprooted tree seem to me to have a lot of character in it's process of decay...certain beauty to it..

Terrific textures and perfect clarity! Very interesting to look at and wonder what little creatures have made their home in that dead tree.

We can't all be heroes. Some of us have to sit on the curb and cheer as they go by.

It does have a lot of character. In fact, I can see a face with a snout for a nose. Nice clairty in the shot, Gerry.

I'm glad I caught you handing this one out. I have one very similar to it that I took next to the riverbed shots I've been posting lately that I was going to use, but mine doesn't hold a candle to this rugged beauty...and I love the deep colors you've captured as well..lots of character, I'd say..thanks :)PJ

Hey Gerry,

NIce picture. I have slantingly put a strunk of a tree upsite down. Then done in the breaches which its pot ground there and that on full with small plants. succulents. This becomes then small flowergarden.

I have this for years in my garden stand.

I know this guy here who can carve the most amazing things out of wood like this.
Furthermore....your shot gave me a smile...because today I was alone...on a photo-hike, and strangely, the wild-life was at a minimum...maybe all at lunch or hiding from me, but I saw several interesting tree stumps similar...and some knot holes in old weathered trees, and I almost snapped shots because I found them interesting, but then thought maybe I'm the only one who finds this kinda stuff interesting....:)
