Good quick click of her, I can tell this event draws many. tigs=^..^=

A few days ago I commented on one of Rob's (rvdb) colorized historic photo submissions, one "Grace La Rue resize edit", and I pulled a copy of it to my desktop, saving it for a time when I'd come across a perfect match for it. Grace was a portrait orientation so I pulled this one as well, cropped it down to the same orientation and size as Rob's, placed them side-by-side and inserted "115 YEARS" over the line between the two. The finished image (for my monitor wallpaper) illustrates how the clothing styles and dress may have changed over the years, but the confidence and openness of these two beautiful women are the same, despite the 115 years that separates them.

The grace and poise of the two women may look similar, but stems from radically different forces against them. Grace La Rue's life was hugely more bleak and constrained than this woman's, and her gaze may hold as much pain as pride. That said, I really like this shot. It's so vibrant and alive, just humming with her power and sensuality. So glad you saw her and had the presence of mind to approach her. A stunning woman in her element.
