As someone who totally refuses to use any Adobe products, I've had to find other software for processing my photos. Over the past couple of years I've settled on On1 Photo RAW and Luminar as my go-to software. Luminar is made by a company called Macphun, and most of their products are developed in conjunction with ace HDR photographer Trey Ratcliff. Most people I know, including me, start out with HDR using the totally cool Photomatix Pro software, and that is where I learned my chops doing HDR. But since I was having so much success with Macphun's Luminar, several months ago I sprung for a copy of its HDR software AuroraHDR. As one might guess from the company name, Macphun's software has been Apple/Mac only (why would one use any other platform???!!??) . But recently the company has decided to begin making its stuff available for PC users, too. This week they came out with the new AuroraHDR 2018 for both platforms and it is an amazing upgrade!!! Those interested in learning more about it can go here to see the features. There's even a 30-day free trial to see if it's for you. Anyhow, I've just got the latest release and am practicing its terrific new features. This is my first effort. Fort Rock, Oregon, USA.

curious is all, your a Mac user but refuse to use Adobe, im just the opposite, a PC user (because upgrading is made so much more simple) yet i use plenty of Adobe products, i love my Lightroom and would be lost without PS! manipulation made fawless would be impossible, i have tried so many in the past that PS just cant be beat in that aspect. complicated? without a doubt, results are worth it. as for HDR? so many of them are just the same. althogh what you speak in the above about HDR is true. you have change my point of veiw there in the past with your advice(thank you) im finding with just Lightroom alone use probably i can get some stunning effects for HDR and in conjuction with PS...very powerful stuff! i suppose the cost factor in equipment vs software works out to be about the same.

ill have to check out this new link you provided. always on the prawl for something new, yet most of the time it leaves me going back to my old stand bys...not to say that it will. Photomatic? lol yes rarly used this days. lightroom preset i have made, seem to do a nice job and conjuction with PS. its camera equipment i lack a strong point to meet clarity issues. if any buy it will be in that dept first.

Pretty dang outstanding for "practice", Ted. Great colors and comp. Since you are a fellow Mac user, with this kind of success, I'll need to check out that link as well. Danke!
