So I did it. I sprung for a new Phantom 3se drone. It's only got a 12mp sensor, but it doesn't do too badly on snapshots. Where it excels is in 4K video. Since Caedes isn't in the video business yet, I can't post my drone movies in stunning 4K, so this snapshot I took yesterday in the field out behind the house will have to do. (Now if I could only find an affordable video processing software...LOL) Redmond, Oregon, USA.

Very cool; I'm in love with drone photography. After I retired I had planned to get one but then started reading up on all the government restrictions on their use; privacy issues, airport easements, and so on. Or is the government more lax about drones out there in Oregon?

There were several attempts to heavily legislate drones. But in the end, if you register your drone with the FAA, keep it below 400 feet, and don't use it for commercial purposes, everything if fine. There might be certain local statues or ordinances, but for the most part, hobbyist don't need to worry if they stick with the FAA rules.
