needless to say, this is no longer in use! nothing has been done to the sand or anything else. it was very late.....almost evening. this shot was taken in the outer banks of north carolina. it's one of my all time favorite areas. the drifting sand covering the buildings drew me like a magnet.

This is fascinating. I would be compelled to explore this. Where is it, by the way?

It amost looks like it's inundated with sand. I like the b/w because it is deserted. By golly, you're right! I do see the blue sky. It must be only the natural lighting that made me think it was tonal. Even better!

Sand's been blowing on this one for a while. I'm with Cyberbod, where is it Jen? I especially like the colort treatment you've given it. Very well done and thanks for sharing it.

Great shot Jen. I love the moody sky and hint of sun breaking through on the water. The subtle colors throughout create an air of mystey. Thanks for sharing. anne :-)

at first glance this almost seems like a monochrome shot, and quite honestly, could've done very well as one. i like the pale, almost pastel feel to the remaining light cast upon this entire frame....excellent!

At first glance, it almost looked like snow and a north pole scene. Very well done and it looks great on the desktop, Jen.

(this is an edit to my first post, in which I seemed to have made a serious gaffe as to location and bridge name.. and no reflection on any coments that follow that refer back to my original comments..ya'll know I blow a lotta hot air, but I do blow it out in a serious manner when I love a picture and try to express how I feel ) wonderful pic :)PJ

But, seriously, I can see why this one is a favorite. It's just appeals to so many of the senses. Thanks for making a favorite of ours as well.

Looks like a mysterious place to be explored. It has an empty spooky feeling to it. I like the bridge in the background.
Great picture!!

You have captured the quiet stilness of this place quite well. Someday these relecs will be torn down to build concos or something but you have preserved it well here, it is very interesting.
