this was taken at hummock pond on nantucket island. if you look in the upper right corner you can see swans. you'll be seeing them again in a future posting.
thanks so much for your comments.
A beautiful scene, Jen. I can see mist rising from the water I think. I had to look hard for those swans. I can't wait to see them up close. I was thinking of you while you were there. In fact, I think it rained hard here on the 14th. Maybe the rain didn't extend to Nantucket.
I can see the swans Jen and they're lovely up there in the corner. This capture however that's front and center -- so to speak ;) is beautifully captured with perfect clarity and composition. I like how the snd is wet except for right under the boat. What a dynamite capture, so well done.
Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
A beautiful compo Jen...looks like there was some light rain dampening the sand around the row boat which makes for an awesome natural effect. Now....'There once was a boat from Nantucket, who said if I fill please empty me with a bucket. If the rains come down I will most likely drown, so please, no foolin' around...'
Ciao!

This is a truly striking image Jen. The colors are wonderful and the subject is mysterious. Very odd to see the sand beneath the boat is lighter than the rest of the sand. One would expect it to be darker...I love the depth and sharpness of the grasses so your depth of field is marvelous. I think the boat may be a bit too centered in the shot. Otherwise a perfect photo. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

hi jen, very nice sentiment here. i like the composition and ever so slightly soft composition. if i might suggest one thing, it would be to lower the horizon to at least the first eighth or so..or eliminate it altogether.. good job all around, though :o)
well beyond the obvious good critiques, this photo has given me some new directions, such as capturing private moments of nature crying.
Yes, i see something interesting, which nobody made a comment about it.
I'm talking about the rain falling into the lake, as i see the water surface. Now thats a private natural effect, which worth spending time capturing such moments. Thanks for sharing this one.
jen i must agree on the photo. its very good but only one thing i see and its not the horizon. i think the shadow under the boat should be a tage darker than the sand around it. i thought shadows were darker any way. all in all its a ood photo
