the nuclear subs are escorted to the shipyard. there they are renuked (whatever). they are sooooo closely guarded. this one was escorted by two navy tugs and 2 coast guard ships. when it is docked there are marines everywhere making sure it is secure. it was a treat to wake up to this sight. You might want to look at it full frame. the temperature here is 20 degrees. it will be colder tonight. my husband is on his way. he landed in seattle and plans to take the lite rail to town where he will board the ferry. it is a 1 mile walk to the house and there's so much ice i'm afraid to drive. (he doesn't know that, yet) what a time to leave beautiful warm phoenix??? you can see snow on the other side. it's quite unusual for the area. have a wonderful Thanksgiving. we do have a lot to be grateful for. thanks in advance for any comments and looks. ENJOY!

A world on its own, those nuclear submarines. Most of the times they are operating submerged, so it's petty rare to see them surfaced.
Good image Jen.
Like to wish you and yours a very good Thanksgiving day.
Regards, Cornelius.

Have a nice Thanksgiving Jen and that does look cold..The white line across the middle detracts from the ominous shape of the Sub,Perhaps running the clone brush along would improve it...R.

I like post like this that are a diversion from the normal posts we see WC. It looks like a Photojournalist shot to me which I like very much.
Happy Thanksgiving

Enjoy thanksgiving Jen. I served on a APA when I was younger. Nice to see some of the New Navy. Wow, I love the snow. Not a bad shot.

VERY cool shot Jen. I once had an experience on a conventional 'deisel' sub and found the whole event decidedly creepy, as much as I cannot live without the sea. I enjoyed sharing this.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I... I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.
