Birding has never been a part of my life. If one visits Brazil it becomes the thing to do. I saw and photographed so many birds. For the entire series I used my Canon 50D and my 70-300 L lens. I never used anything else for the 11 days I took pictures. I was truly delighted with the camera-lens combo. Many of the people used 100-400 lenses or BIGGER. There is no way I could hand hold one of these day after day. I hope you'll like the birds and animals. Thanks for any comments. ENJOY!

I agree with soggy, nice detail on the feathers. He looks a little defensive as if to say " I'll peck you if you get any closer with that camera!" lol

I like the vantage point you had when capturing this bird WC.
I would look like Quasimodo if I packed that camera and lens around for 11 days.
Good post.

---100-400 lenses or BIGGER---
The bigger the lens the more disadvantages. See that the by you used 70-300mm was a proper one for this purpose because the result is very good, Jen.

Seems the combo, no threesome, you also, did a fantastic job capturing this so wonderfully clearly. Looks like I am going to get lots of new additions to my Caedes bird's folder.

What a sweet looking bird, perfectly timed to catch him with his mouth open.
