Here is a cluster of milkweed bugs feeding on a milkweed pod - they like the seeds, leaves and stems of the plant - also, they come in two sizes - large - 1/3" - 3/4" and small 1/3" - 1/2" - these appear to be the smaller size - I was in Stone Harbor, NJ this past weekend visiting the Wetlands Institute - on the grounds they have a butterfly garden which consists of a nice variety of flowers that attract the nectar feeders - I find these insects most fascinating as they are harmless to humans and just want to feast on milkweed - Kindly Enjoy!!!!!!!!

Gotta love a bug that only wants to eat and be left alone Laura.
I suspect they have a community couch.
Great shot.

I see that have a 'party', Laura, 😁 !
The wonderful and contrasting colors (the reddish color of the bugs versus the milkweed pod color) contributes to the 'festivity'.
Very fine one!
