This is a close up shot of the second story of the Pettigrew House & Museum which I posted one of earlier, and of which I posted a shot of one of the windows of earlier. I really like the way they integrated the quartzite rock into the other brick on the window frames and the decorative lines in the building. Makes for an interesting combo. of materials and colors both! Thanks as always for viewing and commenting!

It does not matter, from which angle I look at this house, I like it. The red bricks and those little details everywhere ... Great shot again.

Sabine really gave you the prize with her remarks, considering the architecture she has in her area !!! But she's right and so is everyone else. Love the title, Dan...It's a good thing you left out the "e"....really had me going !!!

They just don't make 'em like they used to. This is such a beautiful house. The builders appear to have taken pride in what they did on this house.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Oh, and here I thought the "other story" was the attic as evinced by the apparent window seat! I agree with the above posters...the craftsmanship on this building is striking and beautiful.

What a clear photo. I'm glad it isn't quite as hard to take pictures of these old buildings as it was to build them. You have picked up the details that they painstakingly devoted much time to. Good color and balance too! Jodie

I too have to agree that the quartz against the brick work is interestingly done. I love the way that they have left the rough look on the outer side of th quartz to enhance the feel. Excellent work
