Was this in the wild or a captive bird? It's incredible! How did you ever get a small bundle of energy like that to hold still for even a split second? This is very sharp and into my bird folder it goes!

Are you and eggray friends? If you're not you should be..either that or mortal enemies !!! :) Marvelous colors and the clarity is so good that I would never be able to see this bird this close in "real" thanks.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to repose. Trust me on this one, I live there. :-)................ MY GALLERY - THE LION****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOMEPAGE
This is so perfect, the colors, sharpness, everything. A beautiful bird I have never seen before. The tail feathers are like the downy woodpeckers. Great work.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Hi,my name is Rob..ok, so I'm not the greatest at replies and comments. Sorry. For anyone needing to contact me, my email is back up in my profile. >> my cluttered mess of a gallery
Happened upon this in the permanent galleries. (I really should browse them more often) Anyway I had to come and express my appreciation of this piece of "photographic perfection" It now resides among my favorites and IMHO is among the top bird images to be found here at Caedes. Marvelous work Kristof ... absolutely marvelous.
We had lots of zebra finches where I grew up. Funny little guys... I still remember the constant begging sound their chicks used to make, which would only ever fall silent for the few seconds their parents were stuffing food in their mouths! Then it would immediately begin again and continue all day...
Wonderful capture of this one... makes we want to go back again just to see them.
