I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Hi Lauren, this image is softly lovely, softly felt, and delicately experienced! The colors may be described in much the same way, or perhaps one may think, while viewing, of a dreamy graceful gown to be worn and enjoyed on a very special occasion! Lovely, Lauren, Sincerely, Marilyn
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life....it comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday." John Wayne.

Let's begin, shall we? :o)
First, I am amazed at how much you can change your direction. It's a great indicator of your maturity as an artist in continuing on your journey of self-expression and not getting rooted technically and painting yourself into the proverbial artists' corner. Kudos.
Now this image ... Lauren, I am going to fave this one as an inspiration to myself and as a reminder to explore the possibilities available. The sense of depth is astounding. Add to that, in my mind you literally have created some 'movement' within the image.
Not sure if this is a fan variation, if it is ... wow. It is singly one of the best uses of that variation I have ever viewed. The proportions and flow of your design is excellent. I really haven't seen that before.
This may be redundant, however ... your choice of colour gradients is exceptional as always. I know how much time you devote to that aspect and it is definitely time well spent.
In fact, I should have given you credit on one of my commentaries on another member's fractal. If it were not for your exploration of that facet of the program, I would have dismissed it simply as a colour choice. But, it isn't. You have shown how dramatically you can alter the appearance of a flame through vigilant and judicious use of gradients.
Thank you for teaching me that.
And thank you for sharing your creative talent. This is ... as the saying that has become popular around here goes ... 'a keeper for sure.' Really nice work.
