Rain falls from the sky & land on the mountains to become snowmelt, which travels down the mountain in the spring to mingle with creeks, brooks & streams.

These waters then make their way to either peaceful ponds & lakes before going once more to mingle with some lager streams known as possibly the Red River or the Ohio River & there they make their way to the Mississippi River to finally find the Gulf of Mexico.

And from the Gulf out to the Atlantic where the water finds home...through the process of evaporation & the cycle can start all over again. So water, not unlike salmon, travels a long long way.

Also my entry in The Colors of Nature Contest.

Nicely composed, Lauren.

And well done on the technical fronts.

I like it. :o)

And but of course, thank you for sharing your creativity with us. :o)

Very nice indeed, Lauren...really like your color palette and the sense of movement and travelling tributaries in the design...interesting to note your mention of salmon as that was also my thought when taking note of the touch of salmon color...all the best in the contest.

I love this! It's like a liquid dream, so many rivers shimmering as they flow into and out of each other... and your use of colors against the black is so striking...

For some strange reason I look at this and see skeletal duck heads. It must be the nature of the this time of year.
Good narrative to go with your fantastic creation. A lovely flow of colours in your design work. Great work and best of luck in the contest.

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson
