Middlefield, Connecticut, USA. The Great Egret is preparing to land about fifty feet from me, thanks to several people getting too close to it on the other side of the pond at Lyman Orchards. The 70-200 lens with 2x extender was used. EXIF: 1/6400, f/8, ISO 800, 400 mm, -2/3 EV. The photo is not cropped.

I agree with Jim. Very nice telephoto captue, Thad. With ISO 800 and 400mm the result is really great.

I'm amazed about both your image and the exif data. See that the shutter time was only 1/6400, that's amazing on its own. What me has amazed even more is that the ISO, in spite of the use of 2 extenders, so creating a focal length of 400 with a 70 -200 lens, hasn't 'grow' higher. The high F-number is very good too. The result is a splendid image almost free from noise. A photographic masterpiece to me. Well done, mate.
Regards, Cornelius.

Wonderful closeup, Thad. It must be thrilling to be able to pull scenes like this in with an extender. Nicely done.
