... there's no place like home! lol Middletown, Connecticut, USA. Colonel Clarence Wadsworth built this humble summer abode in 1900. I can only imagine what the more formal, larger winter residence might have looked like. Its classical architecture belies the contemporary construction of steel and concrete. Its 500 acres were planned and developed by the Olmsted Brothers. Enjoy!

I like the view through the trees. The natural framing adds depth to your picture.

They sure knew how to place the trees so it would enhance the mansion Thad. You knew how to take the photo with the same goal.
Truly a great shot.

Thad, although somewhat tiny, think it can be a pleasant stay just for the summer months.

Good composition, my friend.

That's a very convenient and aptly used natural border to the entryway of your home, Thad. Once again, I'm impressed with your mastery of light and dark contrast to increase the depth of the shot. I remember your southeastern U.S. tour of Georgia and S. Carolina and your excellent architectural photography. You haven't lost your touch.

Thanks for the picture of the 1900 Mansion and the grounds were developed by the Olmsted bros. I know they did Central Park and Biltmore in N.C. glad to see another one of their works Thad!
