Skagway, Alaska, USA. Historic Skagway was the staging place for prospectors seeking their fortunes in the Klondike Gold Rush. Others were enterprising individuals seeking to make money off of these starry-eyed fortune seekers. Among them was Levi Strauss; and a number of ladies who offered other things for sale. Today, the Skagway Inn is a bed and breakfast in one of the former houses of Pleasure Alley, the red light district. A delicious lunch is offered there today, after which a walk through their gardens is the most pleasure offered at the Inn. A cluster of daisies had some poppies interspersed. What was not realized at the time, was that this spot marked the starting line of the Great Alaska Fly Race. Enjoy!

Anyway, this is a fine shot of the daisies, but my days of commenting on flower shots are nearly over. I'm not allergic to flowers, and I don't hate flowers. They're pretty, colorful and serve many useful purposes. But the flower shot has run its course in my miniscule world. In the future I would be honored to comment on your beautiful landscapes of Alaska, the rocky coast of Maine and the charming architecture of the Carolinas. But my flower critiques have become repetitive, redundant, monotonous, tedious and superfluous.
