Skagway, Alaska, USA. Skagway, the starting point for the White Pass Trail to the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s, is located at the end of the Taiya Inlet of the Inland Waterway. Steep mountains surround the town, with ten being at least a mile high. This is one of them - just another mountain (in Alaska). Enjoy! Edit Note: I believe that this is AB Mountain, on the east side of town. This photo was one I reworked several times to eliminate haze and get the color clarity evident when seen in person.

I notice how the vegetation growth is thinner as you go up and that the upper part is totally bare. Quite an interesting capture even if it is "just another mountain".

Referring to both your narrative and Jimbob's comment, think it's better to call this one 'NYPIM' (Not Yet Properly Identified Mountain), lol.

Thanks for another fine and impressive Alaska image, Thad.

Regards, Cornelius.

An impressive looking scene and nice capture, Thad. There must be some spectacular views from higher on the slopes.
