Yorktown, Virginia, USA. The British troops, under the command of Lord Cornwallis, set up a defense perimeter on the plains about a mile from town. The American and French forces dug their lines across the field. This is a British howitzer cannon set along their perimeter.

I like your perspective on this cannon, Thad. I feel like I'm the guy with the big match. Well done.

I see you stayed back to allow for the recoil, Thad.
Ready! Aim! Fire! Perfect hit.

Can't see whether it's aimed properly Thad, lol.

Good angle for this 'shot' (aka capture) my friend.

Great shot Thad!!! Love the low level angle and framing of the trees. Even with the strategic placement of the howitzer cannon, The British did not see victory at this battle. Well Done!!!

I agree with all that this is a great angle for this shot and a view of the cannon we rarely get to see.

If that thing were pointing a little to the left and just a tad higher, it would make a pretty good tree trimmer. lol. Another nice shot, Thad.

Being behind of this cannon is better than being in the front of it. Very nice framing with trees and good lihting.

OK where's the trigger, lol. Excellent closeup showing us such outstanding detail and colours, really like the play of the shadows, plus the natural framing of the trees on each side.
