Point Loma, California, USA. Commemorating the landing of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542, the first European to set foot on the west coast of the US. The monument, created by Alvaro de Bree in 1939, was commissioned by the Portuguese government and donated it to the US.
