Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. On our walkway, we have numerous pots of flowers. An interesting flower among them is the gazania. It opens to sunlight, closing up again at the end of the day. Here is one that is awakening to the morning sunlight, unfurling and spreading its petals. (100mm macro, 1/1600, f/9, ISO 320, AP)

And it resembles the sun as well - beautiful color gazania Thad - I always find them interesting and they make great photos because of the layers of color and textures.

I'm both enjoying your splendid image and a good cup of morning coffee now.
I can't imagine a better start of the day, Thad.
Thanks for that (not for the coffee however, ☺), my friend!

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
