St. Thomas, USVI. Every morning, Iggy and the love of his life would climb to the tree top next to the deck for some sun and food (leaves). At the end of the day, he'd quietly say 'farewell' and climb down. The next day, he'd do it all over again. Here, he's licking the remnants of a leaf. The Caribbean waters are seen through the branches.

Thad, it's a very long time ago that I've visited the United States Virgin Islands. My last port call there was in Charlotte Amalie on San Thomas. Due to obligations I wasn't able to explore the island. A pity, else I may have encountered the ancestors of Iggy.
But no problem, because your very fine 'portrait' (with incredible details) of Iggy, provides me with a good alternative. I don't know however whether Iggy prefers licking the remnants of a leaf or enjoy the sight over Caribbean waters, 😁 !

An appropriate name for an iguana, Thad, and a terrific capture of this handsome fellah. My son and his wife kept lizards when they were first married (now their lizards have smart phones, love Disney princess movies, and are in grade school), but I much prefer them in the wild as your friend here.
