The Blue Ridge Parkway.... a ribbon of highway along the high Appalachian ridges of the Southeast, USA. The Blue Ridge Parkway winds its way for 469 miles of beautiful ridgeline, from Waynesboro, Va. to Cherokee, N.C. In the distance is the Linn Cove Viaduct. Thank you for visiting the high country and enjoying the view!

Diane - Having driven part of the parkway, I can affirm how beautiful it is. It was one of the great outcomes of the New Deal programs in the 1930s. Your photo captures the beauty of the mountains so well. Thad

I haven't been there since 1971. I think it's time to go again. Beautiful capture of the area, Diane.

Beautiful capture Diane. I was able to enjoy some of this area some years ago, but was not into this hobby yet.

I have been to Cherokee, Dianne. I had been in the Smokey's and was leaving. I remember how beautiful it was. Thanks for jogging my memory. If it wasn't for the viaduct, you wouldn't know there was any invasion of the human race.
Wonderful post.
