It looks like a great spot to lay some thick, flat rocks in the water, across the stream and upstream from that drop off, spaced wide enough for the water to pass through but not so far that one could not use them for stepping stones. Saw exactly that in the Masterpiece ^Poldark^ series.
This may be only a tiny cascade, but I always think about small woodland critters to whom water features like this are rather large. Excellent capture, Katrin, positioned so the source of the main subject, the stream, is a mystery, hidden by that curve upriver. Successful photos are those that either lead you to where the action is going, or shows you where it has been, with a little mystery thrown in for good measure.
