I went to the river to try to get some bird shots yesterday. It looked like i made a wrong turn and ended up at Bubbas Alligator Ranch. Them Gators were everywhere, so i left and went 5 miles further up river. Same thing but more of it. The only place there wasn't gators was it the trees.(Not 100% sure of that) It must have been the annual Gator convention was in town or there going nuts this mating season The most i've ever seen is 3 in one day. Today there was 6 in one place, the smallest was a 5 footer. The largest was a 12 footer that stayed a couple of hundred yards away.

Ed, Your getting some great close up's but please be careful. You caught this one's look and detail very well. A nicely done image. =^..^= sandi ♪

May be they just finished with the FAU (Florida Alligators Union) annual meeting,Ed. I think they have done well at the meeting because this guy is still smiling! Nice clear shot.

A 5 footer is already impressive to me Ed. A 12 footer would scare me to death. Great post again!
Like however to agree with Sandi's comment above: be careful my friend! Regards, Cornelius.

Bubba's Alligator Ranch? What a great name for the place. Bubba's gotta be a good ol' boy then. Probably a feller redneck. LOL. Great shot again down by the river, Ed. Remind me never to go there though. I am allergic to gators.

Great post. I think gators are awesome. The only ones I've ever seen in person was at an aquarium.

Wonderful close up capture of this big dude Ed. Yes I sure would stay away from the 12 footer also, boy, even the 5 footer is my height in length.

Love you gator shots

I would have panicked, for get the camera and just try not to get myself killed. New Yorkers don't do well with alligators, well maybe if they were shoes.....I just kidding. Great shot and I'm glad you found your way home OK.

Sounds like a photographer's paradise, Ed. Photographers have been known to get into a pickle trying for a shot. lol Don't let it be you. Maybe these guys are very familiar to you, but for me they would be exceedingly scary. Great shot here with the fallen log for background.

Oh hey, those gators are lurking everywhere down your way... it's risky business, I imagine. I don't trust this fellow's grin, he looks much too self-satisfied... ;-)
