This is a flower i was given at church on Mother's Day. It has throrns,but is not a rose bush, but a potted plant. It is called "Rasberry Ice".

Great colours Nancy! Got a question; are the flowers themselves almost papery in texture when dry? If so, my guess is that the plant is a variety of the Bouganvilla. If it is, they are sort of weird; they generally will only bloom when water-stressed. When I lived in Saudi Arabia, they were all over, growing simply as weeds. I've seen every colour from white to an almost black deep purple.

I've never heard of this plant. I like the little white flowers with the raspberry ones! Very interesting shadows, too.
