This is near the headwaters of the Salmon River. Just a small stream here - 40 miles further downstream you can do whitewater raft trips. Here it's just a small thing. What's awesome is to see 3 foot long salmon swimming upstream to spawn in these waters. Hope you enjoy.

Really an awsome shot Nathan. The colors are perfect and the focus is spot on. Good work as usual.

The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.

It is absolutey wonderful to see such untouched land - seems we just build and build and build with no respect for what we are destroying :-( Thanks so much for sharing this. It is a gorgeous shot Nathan!

Just found this site and your work. This is just over Galena Summit, right below the "overlook". Before the "overlook" was built, in 1971, there was a tiny shelter where we used to go after Slavey's closed! I've watched those "dog" salmon right there, took my grandparents there when they were in their 90's!! me: 42n8k9 (at) ida (dot) net

You're right on the location, Tony. Just at the base of Galena summit near Smiley Creek (actually just across the highway from Frenchman Creek logging road). Thanks.
