I can't believe I actually got a shot of a butterfly. Boy was it sweaty work chasing her around !!! I was so tickled that I'm posting two of them. Let me know which one I should keep on here. Thanks

A great Shot here. The Portrait of the Butterfly blurs out the rest to leave the focus on the Butterfly whos vibrant colours are enough to carry on its own. Well done. Sorry if I rambled, it is still early..lol.

What a beautie! Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) we don't have them in Poland, unfortunately. I envy you chasing her to take a shot. It must have been real pleasure.

Awesome capture Pat ..I can picture you chasing the Butterfly around with your camera ..I would be proud too if I captured a shot as wonderful as this one. I am jealous ..Butterflies elude me ... :(( They almost taunt me ..They say here I am Ruby ..ha got ya again you weren't quick enough ..

Great composition on this one, Pat. I really like that you framed the plant all the way down to the corner of the photo and put the butterfly where you did. This turned out very well. Please tell me, why does one have to go?

Wow, another really great pic of a butterfly. Again, great composition. It's nice to see good comp, especially with subjucts that are so "flighty." Another random thought: Did you know that this is actually not a Monarch? This is a Viceroy Butterfly. The viceroy's coloring is similar to the Monarch, but it has an extra black stripe through the wings and it is quite a bit smaller. It is a good fake though, good enough to fool most preditors into thinking it is the poisonous Monarch.
