The weather conditions have been so favorable to the Moutain Ash trees we have around here this year, that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try and capture one in the wild...lol...actually this was in a fellow townsfolk's yard. :)PJ

wow! rich colours and a beautiful capture of this tree. There is slight blurring to the right so maybe crop off a bit there, but otherwise stunning photograph - the contrast is very good. Patti

It's so colorful, PJ. The red group in the front is so clear and the composition is nice. I do agree, a bit wider dof would have left more in focus but nevertheless, this is pleasing! - Patty

WOW, PJ. The close up and clarity of the red berries in the front sure is terrific among the green. Like the lighting and composition very much. You've captured a great part of this Ash. I didn't know they had these berries. Excellent post an thanks for sharing it.

I've tried to take pictures like this and it never works -- I can't get my camera to focus on anything., But you captured that big, fat cluster just right -- and the edges don't matter, because that's where my icons are.

Beautiful picture. I think this is the same we had in Sweden. Latin name is Sorbus aucuparia. We do rowanberry jelly and it´s very good :) It said that if it is many rowanberry in a tree, the winter comes with planty of snow.
Anyway it is a great work.

Hummmm...of all the traveling I did up through New England I missed seeing these. They are beautiful. That cluster right up front is super. I would have cropped away the whole right side of the composition. It seems to want to pull my eye away from the main thing...the beautiful cluster up front. Great capture.

Hi PJ, this is truly beautiful, the reds and greens are just great together! The tree looks so healthy! The wood of the tree is often used in place of oak, isn't it, when making furniture and other great things of wood! Oak is so expensive! You know PJ, I have never been to the East coast in my life, what a lovely experience it would be! I have been to the west coast often, but have missed seeing your nick of the woods, maybe someday! Very nice photo my dear, good job PJ! Sincerely, Marilyn

Well, thanks everyone for all your comments and I was trying to get a macro of the front bunch and its leaves while showing the abundance of fruit that this tree has..when my puter gets out of the hospital, I'll take it to PS and see if I can blur out the background just a tad, so that my intent becomes clearer :)PJ

Lovely image that brings back memories. I had two of these beautiful trees in my yard for years when they suddenly and inexplicably died. As a bird fancier it was quite a loss. Besides losing the beauty of those berries I lost some regular visitors that loved to pick at them during the season. Beautiful trees ... beautiful birds ... lost so suddenly. Anyway you've done a first rate job of presenting them with this posting and I thank you for allowing me to relive some wonderful moments.
