I didn't have anything else to do last night so I borrowed one of my images, that's already on Caedes and did a little experimenting. This was done with the free program Pisca2 from Google.
Let's see what everyone thinks.
I love the b&w, and then the colour that you added makes this incredible. A great job Michael. I hadn't noticed the smudge above the balloon at first glance but I do see it now that Jess mentioned it, what exactly did you do with the image, I looked in your gallery to see what you played with, lol.

this is really cool, using the part color/part Black and White works well for this, there's just a part of the photo that should be B&W where it looks like "smeared" color: just above the baloon. But other from that it's great! (just a thought:It would be interesting to try leaving the reflection of the baloon in color too!)

Beautiful work. Can I send you some of mine for your spare time to make them look so nice. Excellent creation. I just wonder what we all could do without TV or other home projects. Ted

The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. - Brooks Anderson
I find this to be very playful, not only in your efforts, but in it's appearance. The background image is so sharp and the balloon just pokes us in the eye. A wonderful joining of fine photos with great colored framing.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Michael..it's all been said, except that I must say that I like the border. In fact on a lot of pics I like a border...but that's a matter of personal preference, I suppose. This was a great idea and now you've got me going out to try google's pisca...my family thinks I'm dead anyway..lol
Michael, this is on my desktop and looks great! A dramatic image with the balloon. The B/W is excellent and shows off the vibrant colors of the balloon in a very appealing way. The light and reflections add more beauty. The two borders are a good addition, and I like the colors used. Excellent work!
Hello Michael...I have learned so much from all your wonderful framing and borders...but I have to admit, this time, I would loved to have seen the whole frame with no border at all. I think that's simply because I love the photo so much, I want to get all that I can from it. And the way that hot air balloon jumps out at me, from the black and white is just fantastic!..(hey did ya forget to write?lol) Thanx for a great shot here my friend....verena
michael. this is a wonderful photograph/piece of art. i would have preferred it without the colorful border......actually without any border. happy new year! jen
Stunning post mister!! Would've liked to seen just a simple, clean white frame and the reflection of the balloon in color would've really been a knock-out. Fantastic overall comp and a grand capture Michael!!
Filled with admiration :)
Makes a wonderful peaceful desktop and reminds me of the time I had a ride in one of these balloons - magical, when I eventually opened my eyes :)
Great pic!!!! How about one with no frame? Also, Jesouris has a good thought...see what it looks like with a color reflection? Excellent none the less...one of my favorites.
I've had this in my favorites for a while I wish I'd set it as my background sooner! It makes a WONDERFUL desktop! Even my icons look pretty now like little air baloons! The border sets it off nicely too.
Excellent as always. It's been a long time since I visit this Web, now I'm back again. The first thing I did was to have a look to your gallery. I'm glad to meet you again.
