Don, two possibilities: 1. you have a big telelens or 2. you were capable to approach that deer very near. Whether it's 1 or 2, the result is anyhow wonderful!

Great deer capture Don! The color is perfect. I've seen quite a few close ups and some closer than I wanted to. They do the dumbest things when car headlights are involved.
