"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

No doubt in my mind that it is a glorious green sea anemone .I know it is because I see it gracefully moving with the current, and I believe I saw a little fish swim through its fronds.
Anemone I see you glow
Beneath the waves so far below...

(Try saying this fast "The enemy of an anemone is not any anemone)
Took a look at the contest submissions (some short time back) and I think yours here was indeed a standout.
'Vegetarian'? You bet. :o)
If I may ... and forgive me if I have this wrong, but I think you have Photoshop and perhaps something to keep in mind for next time round ... all's I did was duplicate the "Background layer" and set the "Blending" mode to "Overlay" with an opacity setting of approximately 30%.
The result was some additional contrast, which in my mind and in very humble opinion ... provided for some more delineation of your 'plants' spirals, both in the green and gold colour against the background.
A little more polished to my eyes as well. As your flame stands here, and forgive me as this is not the most appropriate of words or terms or phrasing, but does come to mind ... the lighting is a tad too even across the board. Just needs a hint of more depth to the blacks, that's all.
Having said that ... make no mistake, I think this is a winner.
And but of course, thanks for sharing your work with us. It is most appreciated by this viewer. :o)
Thanks for your comments Les. Although I do appreciate your suggestions this image was originally created with a Vegetation contest on DA. I know that one of the rules was minimal postwork. I already played with the color settings and contrast in Photofiltre.
